Why Miley Why?

Watching an Ellen re-run right now and Miley Cyrus is on and ugh I am sorry I just can't deal. From her "new" haircut , color, and raspy voice. I just think she tries TOO hard. But my main question is WHY LIAM WHY?!? You are too cutie patootie for her wanna be "rockstar" phase. Although that being said, you did just beat someone up in the middle of Philly while filming...hmm....

OK so actually I just threw up all over Miley, I was looking for  a pic. to post and I think it's just her hairdo I don't like. There are some super cute pics of the two of them, I just don't like the do.

xoxo sorry for hatin' Miley!

Christmas Songs

OK so here are some of my favorite Christmas Songs (not videos, but I did youtube them so you could listen more easily with a link)

All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey

This just makes me feel SO happy! Besides her voice is AMAZING!

Christmas Shoes by Bob Carlisle

OK yes this song is sad and a little depressing, but it really reminds me of a time in my life that it gave me hope when I
didn't have much and makes me cry AND smile!

Santa Baby by Madonna

I just think this is a fun song and I like how she adds all that sensuality and sexuality to it!

Up on the Roof Top by Jackson 5

This is just such a cute song that has a great beat, love their voices! I used to listen to this on repeat while I was in the shower this time of year, so random, but love it, ha!

Baby it's Cold Outside by Dean Martin

OK I get a little too into this song. I love it! I try and picture myself back in the "day" in this era and as the woman, a little tipsy but wanting to stay and knowing she should leave, so romantic and scandalous!

Narrowing it Down

Yes, Yes, I must admit that I did visit the paint store again last evening and got 2 more samples of paint. I got the official paint numbers from the pictures I posted yesterday and was on my "merry" way. And if you were going to ask if the paint people were any more helpful, my answer is NO! I tried my best, prying and probing them for answers, joking around, then being dead serious and NOTHING! I even looked the guy square in the eye and said "which one would YOU choose", you don't even want to know his answer, just know it was NOT helpful!

I ended up going with the one shade darker than my hubby's Benjamin Moore classic gray, it's called Balboa Mist. I didn't want to risk going too light (like i did the first time with a gray). Then I also went with Benjamin Moore's Oyster Shell. They both look great on the wall. I'll post the picture below, but it really doesn't do it justice. Like really does NOT do it justice. But you can get he picture.

I don't think we can go wrong. It just depends which one we bring into the other (dinning room) underneath the chair rail. Hubby suggested taking down the chair rail and doing the living room the RIGHT color and the dinning room the LEFT color.

Sample Please

For the love of Paint Colors people!!!!

It's not painters that keep Paint Stores like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams in business... it's indecisive people like me who lack creativity and decorating ability that go in day after day and by $7-$8 samples!

I mean come on people! And what is even worse, the people who work at these stores are Z-E-R-O help! I've been to 3 paint stores over this project (painting the living room) and I feel like no one is the standard of help I need. OK yes I know I have high standards, but I need someone to help guide me in the right direction.

I tell them: I want LIGHT. NOT white, but LIGHT! And I want hues of gray and hints of light light blue. They just look at me and stare like I have 4 heads and then pull out the pallet that has nine hundred different colors on it, which puts me back to square 1!

Here are some websites of room colors I like:

Tranquility (minus 2 drops of blue... apparently)

"Who Dun It"?

Pardon me, but that was the best case of "who done it" I have seen in awhile!

Standing in the kitchen making lunch today clearly our dog, Harley, has to go outside. BUT, he is going to have to wait until I wash my dirty hands and can open the door.

So all of a sudden I hear a small "pow" (yes for lack of a better word that is what we are calling farts these days) and I look down and Harley is jumping, in fact quite startled! He is looking around like "who, what, what was that"? and then reaches around back to smell.

Way to play it off pup, ha!

Hottie Alert

Just in.....

Liam's Hemsworth is shooting downtown Philly for one of his new films!

My friend just texted me that the Actor is filming outside her work building! So I googled it and apparently he was in town back in August shooting "Paranoia". Maybe they came back to do some second...third...fourth takes!

Hopefully she can get a shot of him for us on set.

Pregnancy Privacy

So I know that as soon as I found out about the Duchess I did what I do best... spoke before I thought.... MommaMotorMouth in her finest!

But then I really got to reading more and thinking....... and I find it truly sad that because she is famous she had to tell the world she was pregnant BEFORE she was out of her first trimester. Due to her hyperemesis she was hospitalized and I am assuming the Royal Family knews would break and information would be leaked about her condition.

And all I can think now is Poor Kate. For those of you that have had "your first" baby or are pregnant with your first, you know that feeling of "it's too good to be true" or "God Willing", "Fingers Crossed", etc. etc. And most of that is getting through the first 12 weeks, then 18 weeks, then 20, etc. and eventually it is until the baby is delivered then healthy. And then as a mom and a parent you automatically become a worry wort, so it never stops!

But in this case, Kate must be so scared and have so many questions and most likely want to keep all things private, but instead they must tell the world so that it doesn't leak first!

Wishing you the best William and Kate!

Romance

OK, so you caught me, I am currently blogging and watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I NEVER watch these shows, but I have watched this series before...

Well.... the woman woman is an ex-model from Denmark (I think) and she states "I told [my husband] that I didn't want jewelry, I wanted love letters"

... and then cue the husband "I have been writing my wife love letters for 6 years".

 I absolutely LOVE that!

Duchess Catherine aka Princess Kate

PREGNANT! PREGNANT! PREGNANT! PREGNANT!

That's right! Our Duchess (whom I still refer to as Princess Kate), well UK's Duchess, is pregnant! I am so incredibly excited for her & William, their families and the Queen Mum! If you ever read any of my early posts on CopadeCava, you will know how obsessed I am with the Royal Family! Yes I taped and watched the whole Wedding, everything that lead up to the Wedding, and everything that followed. Even the Queen Mum's Diamond Jubilee celebration. And I always end up crying! I just love them! Kate is so classy and cute and just seems like a genuine person!

Happy Holidays

I cannot watch this video without tearing up and trying not to let out sobs!

My Dad sent me this link over the wedding. With flash mobs being all the rage, T-mobile did a good job with this commercial from last Christmas. YES, it is a commercial, BUT I just love the pureness of it.

Not saying I think that it could actually happen, but it brought out something inside me. I know we all get a little crazy around the Holidays and some of us may get pretty stressed out, but in all reality, this is how I imagine Christmas in my head.

I guess I have some pretty great memories as a kid growing up that I just want everything to be so perfect for me and my family each year when this time comes around. And then before I know it, it's December 26th, everyone has left my house after a night meal and evening full or sharing, caring, games, and presents and it is all over. Gone. I really, really want to try and enjoy and savor the moment this year as many times as possible (cause in all reality I know it won't be a 24-hour phase).

Anyway, see if you can watch it without tearing up or feeling giddy inside!

Jokes on YOU!

I got this video link from a friend and it is absolutely hilarious! It's 6 minutes and you need to listen to it even if it's just a little sound.

Part of me thinks- how do these people not know they are being pranked? I mean where do they THINK this little girl came from? But then I remember that the Spanish/Portuguese cultures are normally pretty religious (and you can hear the references to "Dios" in there a few times). And I also think it is in the heat of the moment. I think I would be the woman curled in a ball in the floor. I secretly wanted the little girl to touch the people, but then the practical adult in me thought, "well she probably can't for legal purposes. That is why they have you sign a waiver before you go into a haunted house where people DO touch you"

Christmas Cards

It was that first nostalgia of Christmas today when our Christmas cards arrived!

mini Shout OUT to Shutterfly and FedEx for getting to us so quickly (I think I just made and purchased them Monday NIGHT).

The cards have been stuffed in the envelopes (face up of course so you can see them when you open them) and are ready for the labels to be put on, stamped, and return address"ed" if that is even a verb. That will all come this evening and tomorrow!

I think I will send them out Friday so that they get to people Saturday and Monday which would be December 1st and the 3rd and at least then I am not sending them the month of November? That would be a little overkill? But I want to  get it out those friends, whom like me, put them up in a collage.

I won't post the picture until they have gone out to ruin the surprise, but I like them. They are different than years past. I wasn't really (nor was my husband) with any of the pictures of "the adults". I wanted to do cute pictures of The King, but then I wanted to do all these fun pictures of them to portray his personality.

I couldn't just chose 1 or 3, but I didn't want to be that person that put 10-15 photos as a "hey look at every picture we took this year", haha. NO offense if you did that! Harley and Belle may have been cut  out of the pics, but they did make the "signatures" this year!

Hello....Handsome

OK so maybe I am a little bit late on this train, but,
CHRIS HEMSWORTH, what?!?

This past weekend we watched "Snow White and the Hunstman" and Mr. Chris was in it. It wasn't love at first sight or anything, but as the movie went on I just wanted to keep seeing more! I am a hopeless romantic so I am sure the transpiring attraction/love story/sexual tension between him and Snow added to my curiousity.

I know his  brother, because I am a big Hunger Games fan. And I do think that in general Liam is attractive (not necessarily as Gale in HG), but I just can't get over that he is with Miley and that creeps me out.

But I had honestly never noticed Chris before. So, in case you are like me... here are a few pics for you to gaze at!

Negotiation

Why does ALMOST everything in life have to be a negotiation or bribery?!?

For example.....
Breakfast today for The King:
Egg white omelet
2 sausage links
Grapes

For someone who isn't a huge "meat" eater, he sure loves SAUSAGE! He downed his two links like that (snap!) and was already asking for "MO" before we had even begun ours! Therefore, the rest of breakfast was negotiation and bribery... you eat those eggs and you MAY have some more sausage... and so on and so on.

Then there was....
Two nights ago we had crab cakes for dinner and he ate almost 1/2 of my husband's. Well, guess who bought  him his own crab cake and he wouldn't eat it! OK in his defense it was a different style/brand, but come on you are 1.5 why do you know the difference!!!

And the most worst and recent.....
He had a playdate with a friend and would NOT eat his lunch! After my husband tried to explain to him for 20 minutes you can go when your lunch is done. Clearly reinforcments are needed, it just wasn't working... so I came in and tried to show him what Dadddy meant.

Me: Do you want to go play with H?
King: YESSSS

Me: OK then you have to put on this SOCK
King: OK
Me: But before I put this sock on you have to take a bite of THIS

And sure enough that kid took one of the biggest bites I had seen in a long time! This continued through each sock, shoe, pant leg, arm hole, shirt, jacket, and hat until the meal was done!

Team George Blog

Check out my husband and I's joint blog covering our fitness regimen and lifestyle

THANK YOU

THANKS FOR VISITING THE "NEW" BLOG!

I had to change with the times, so here I am Momma MotorMouth.

Mom, Wife, Worker, Cook, Baker, Volunteer, and Friend.

I haven't been the best about blogging since I got busy with work again, but I do post semi-frequently and hope that I can keep you interested with my thoughts that tend not to make sense nor go anywhere!

XOXO

New Blog or This Blog?

Panama Garage Games 4.14.12

It's no secret that health and fitness play a large role in my family's daily life. And I'd like to start blogging a little bit about our daily endeavours with our CF regimen.

For those of you who may not recognize the abbreviation, CF stands for CrossFit. CrossFit, Inc. describes its strength and conditioning program as “constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement," with the stated goal of improving fitness.

CrossFit is not just a "type of exercise", but I have been coming to realize IF you want it to, it is a way of life. Now, there are many different levels of CF. My husband and I jumped up our regime to 5x/week last March and immediately I saw a difference between 3x/week. As a lifestyle choice, we decided to perform our workouts Monday through Friday and leave our weekends to "rest" or for  moderate exercise (go for a light jog, etc.). This schedule really fit our family and social schedule.

As we have just hit our year 1 mark of beginning CF: research, my husband's certification, group workouts, etc. it makes me reflect on the past year physically and mentally.

We have just signed up for our 2nd CF competition and will be competing at the beginning of January. Even though I have been competing my whole life, I was usually good at it or had the confidence I would come out on top. However, I am already nervous about this competition. Yes, I have come a long way, but still have so far to go. CF exposes my mental weaknesses and my physical weakness of good form, holding weight above my head, and taking the Olympic weight lifting moves to the next level.

I just can't decided whether or not I want to do it here or on a separate blog. I am thinking I may do a separate blog if my husband wanted to join in on his thoughts.......

Cheesy or Cherished?

So it's been challenging trying to teach The King about anything other than Thanksgiving besides trying to say the word itself. I think we may have our own version by Thursday though... I'm hopeful!

I will admit, lately I have less than patient some people at least. And I feel that I have been the recipient of the same "wrong doings". What is that saying.... you hurt the ones you love the most, because you know they will forgive you? It's so easy one day to say I will change or improve something and focus on it. But then having a whole lifestyle change is another.

But then it just hit me this morning, why not try being nice.... It's a lot harder to be nice 24/7 then it is to be judgmental, pushy, critical, real, etc. What about just giving out appreciation and compliments for free? What will people think? Well with Thanksgiving a few days away, I thought I would try it out for a few hours :) !

So this morning I got a work email from an associate we always expect immediate response and action from and I thought to myself, you know I should go ahead and thank her. So in the spirit of the holiday I did and her response was wonderful! Not a few minutes l later I received a similar email from another associate thanking ME for their business. OK, so yes it was mass produced, but who cares.

Wouldn't the world be a much nicer place if we threw out compliments and appreciation instead of insults and put me downs?

Act of Appreciation

A good friend told me about a little tradition she has about taking her children to the doctor.....

1. She always dresses her kids up

2. MOST of the times she brings a treat for the receptionists/front desk employees

My friend told me about her traditions a few years ago, I believe it was pre-King. I thought it was a cool idea, but never thought twice about it until I had my own child and I actually really took to the ideas.

I like the idea of showing these doctors and employees respect.

Maybe with the clothes, hey may not notice at first (especially if when the doctor comes in and your child's clothes are off, ha), but eventually I really think they do. In fact, I know they do as I have had many of the doctor's make positive comments. Even beyond that, I hope for the years to come it teaches my son to show respect to these professionals.

In regards to bringing a treat (whether you have baked it yourself is NOT the point), I believe it makes a difference! Since the time The King was 6 weeks old, I have been bringing them little things here and there (cookies, bread, brownies, etc.) and they always seem more than appreciative AND even the next time I come in (without something) they always bring it up again and say thank you.

Today, in honor of the fall and Thanksgiving week, The King will be bringing them Pumpkin Bread for his sick visit!

Where do they learn these things?!?

We have all heard the expression "kids are like sponges, they absorb everything", but what about the expression "where the heck did my kid learn that?"?!?

So, yes, we are definitely at the stage where we have to watch what we say around "The King" as he is in repeat mode.

Example 1
Mommy: hurt myself... shouts out an explicit.....
The King: repeats explicit with a smile and lisp... SH*SHHHH.

Cute the first time, but not after

Example 2
Scenario:  driving down the main road through town yesterday and this lady comes completely over into my lane I have to swerve up on to the curb with BOTH tires

Mommy: LADYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

The King: lady! lady! lady! hahah LADY, hahaha, lady! lady!.......

This continued for the next 3 minutes as I had to chase her down to pull over (yes I was beeping frantically behind her, eventually having to get out of my car tap on her window), finally when she agreed to pull over, Kingston is in the back [window down I may add] screaming on cue..... lady! lady! lady)

HOWEVER...... sometimes I wonder where he learns some of the stuff he says and does

He isn't in daycare and doesn't really watch "tv", he does have some older friends and cousins he hangs around and i know they can learn behavior, but still.....

Example 1
Knowing how to push my buttons and the limits???

Scenario: yesterday we had to go to the shore house and meet the adjuster. The whole bottom floor dry wall has been taken out so the beams are showing. Knowing my curious 1.5yr old would want to go check them out, I set up the whole garage with his toys- digger, trucks, guitar, etc. for distraction. He tried a few times and I told him not to go in there and guided him towards his "play area". Well mid-conversation I look over and he is slow-mo walking sideways through the doorway smiling at me going "hiiiiii, hiiiiii, hiiii mommeeeeee". I mean really?!?

Example 2
SANTA.....

We definitely hadn't spoken about Santa yet this year! He hasn't watched any Christmas tv or dvd's and out of know year about a month ago he pulls out these red furry Elmo gloves and says "SANTA"! Does he remember from last year? My thought is no way, he was only 11mo, but maybe? So we said "OK" and moved on, but then the word kept coming up. I hadn't heard any of his older friends (haha ok they are 3, 5, and 6 not 20's ha) mention it yet this year either! But he keeps repeating "Santa, Santa, Santa".

My husband said they have taken several trips to Home Depot and even back in October they had Christmas decorations up and they started to learn about Christmas tree, decorations, and Santa, but this was after the first mentioning of him!

CRAZY! But as his mother, and someone who happens to LOVEEEEEEE Christmas! I am taking full advantage of this situation! I hate to admit we have already started listening to Children Christmas songs; I showed him Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer movie in the car yesterday, and even told him about how Santa knows when he is being naughty and nice (yes I said word by word the song, haha)!

I have all these books on children and their mind, I am sure the research to my questions are in there, maybe I should get on that.............

Wedding Bliss

Well apparently my dear friends Meredith and Ryan weren't the only ones to get hitched this weekend.... My friends from the Today Show have informed me that BLAKE LIVELY and RYAN REYNOLDS tied the knot this past weekend.

Apparently they got married last night in a white tent  on a plantation in South Carolina (umm can you just imagine; GORGEOUS).

I am a HUGE fan of the stars individually and when I first found out they were dating I couldn't have been more excited! But, this news scares me! They haven't been publicly dating very long and let's be honest, Hollywood doesn't have best track record  when it comes to True Love and marriages lasting and I have to say I would LOVEEEEEE it if they could last!

On our trip home yesterday we actually watched The Proposal so I was able to get my Ryan Reynolds fix and he is quite dreamy!!!!!

They seem to be such beautiful, fun, lively (no pun intended) people as actors and through their characters. Clearly I don't know them personally but wish them the best of luck and lots of beautiful children (eventually)!

Some links for the news:

It's Here it's Here, Fall is Here!!!

I know I probably sound like and annual broken record BUT, I have come to live for this day! The day when you wake up and step outside and the air is light and thin and the temperature is cool, sending a little chill up your spine. You take a deep inhale and look around and can acknowledge the possible start in a change of the season!

Kids go back to school, the air gets cool, the wardrobe starts to change, you begin to switch from white to red (wine that is), stock the fridge with Oktoberfest (IF you can get your hands on it), break out the slow cooker and start to cook those hearty chilli's and pulled meat recipes, and pumpkin bread, yumm!

That was my moment this morning! I have to be honest I was LESS THAN thrilled about getting out of bed this morning after a weekend of celebrations (when I am normally a low-key early bird) and Kingston's Mommy separation anxiety taking over the nights and my sleep! But when I stepped outside it was like all that just evaporated! All that negative energy, that dark cloud inside of me, was gone when I exhaled!

I'm not saying today is going to be easy, but I am definitely looking forward to it, especially with this cup of Hazelnut coffee!

Enjoy! xoxo

Morning Show Nostalgia

What does your routine include?

I tend to start my days on the early side, well I think so..... and if I can I usually try to have that include my morning show.

After pumping some iron and running around like a chicken with my head cut off getting breakfast all I want to do is drink a warm, ok HOT, cup of coffee and get a glimpse at The Today Show.

I will be honest and say that it's not the same without Meredith and even Anne, but I am not willing to change networks, and love it just the same. I literally try and change the channel (from Fox Philly 29 Good Day) at 6:59am so I can hear the morning theme (click here to hear and judge for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjfUJiPyEwY&feature=related),  I get little goosebumps, I just love it! I love the legitimacy of the news and interviews with a hint of humor and banter.

Unfortunately I don't get to watch as much as I would like before "someone" starts getting bored or the work day needs to begin, but even in 10-15min I get enough of Matt, Al, Savannah, and Natalie and enough news to feel up to date. Now if I could just figure out a way to get Kathie Lee and Hoda on my agenda, haha!

What's your morning show of choice?

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Passed Away

I'm sorry this is one of my first posts in awhile, but as I await to start my work day, I'm watching the Today Show and just learned that Michael Clarke Duncan passed away this weekend.

For those of you who don't know him by name (I didn't) he is the Large (extremely tall and muscular) African American actor who played John Coffey. He has been in a ton of movies, but is most known for his role in The Green Mile ("Mmmmm Boss") and Armageddon ("leaving on a jet plane").

Interesting Facts:
1. Before he was an actor in Hollywood he was some famous stars' bouncer (his list includes Will Smith and Jamie Foxx)

2. He was dating and actually engaged to The Apprentice's Omarosa

Here is the article:
