Wedding Bliss

Well apparently my dear friends Meredith and Ryan weren't the only ones to get hitched this weekend.... My friends from the Today Show have informed me that BLAKE LIVELY and RYAN REYNOLDS tied the knot this past weekend.

Apparently they got married last night in a white tent  on a plantation in South Carolina (umm can you just imagine; GORGEOUS).

I am a HUGE fan of the stars individually and when I first found out they were dating I couldn't have been more excited! But, this news scares me! They haven't been publicly dating very long and let's be honest, Hollywood doesn't have best track record  when it comes to True Love and marriages lasting and I have to say I would LOVEEEEEE it if they could last!

On our trip home yesterday we actually watched The Proposal so I was able to get my Ryan Reynolds fix and he is quite dreamy!!!!!

They seem to be such beautiful, fun, lively (no pun intended) people as actors and through their characters. Clearly I don't know them personally but wish them the best of luck and lots of beautiful children (eventually)!

It's Here it's Here, Fall is Here!!!

I know I probably sound like and annual broken record BUT, I have come to live for this day! The day when you wake up and step outside and the air is light and thin and the temperature is cool, sending a little chill up your spine. You take a deep inhale and look around and can acknowledge the possible start in a change of the season!

Kids go back to school, the air gets cool, the wardrobe starts to change, you begin to switch from white to red (wine that is), stock the fridge with Oktoberfest (IF you can get your hands on it), break out the slow cooker and start to cook those hearty chilli's and pulled meat recipes, and pumpkin bread, yumm!

That was my moment this morning! I have to be honest I was LESS THAN thrilled about getting out of bed this morning after a weekend of celebrations (when I am normally a low-key early bird) and Kingston's Mommy separation anxiety taking over the nights and my sleep! But when I stepped outside it was like all that just evaporated! All that negative energy, that dark cloud inside of me, was gone when I exhaled!

I'm not saying today is going to be easy, but I am definitely looking forward to it, especially with this cup of Hazelnut coffee!

Enjoy! xoxo

Morning Show Nostalgia

What does your routine include?

I tend to start my days on the early side, well I think so..... and if I can I usually try to have that include my morning show.

After pumping some iron and running around like a chicken with my head cut off getting breakfast all I want to do is drink a warm, ok HOT, cup of coffee and get a glimpse at The Today Show.

I will be honest and say that it's not the same without Meredith and even Anne, but I am not willing to change networks, and love it just the same. I literally try and change the channel (from Fox Philly 29 Good Day) at 6:59am so I can hear the morning theme (click here to hear and judge for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjfUJiPyEwY&feature=related),  I get little goosebumps, I just love it! I love the legitimacy of the news and interviews with a hint of humor and banter.

Unfortunately I don't get to watch as much as I would like before "someone" starts getting bored or the work day needs to begin, but even in 10-15min I get enough of Matt, Al, Savannah, and Natalie and enough news to feel up to date. Now if I could just figure out a way to get Kathie Lee and Hoda on my agenda, haha!

What's your morning show of choice?

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Passed Away

I'm sorry this is one of my first posts in awhile, but as I await to start my work day, I'm watching the Today Show and just learned that Michael Clarke Duncan passed away this weekend.

For those of you who don't know him by name (I didn't) he is the Large (extremely tall and muscular) African American actor who played John Coffey. He has been in a ton of movies, but is most known for his role in The Green Mile ("Mmmmm Boss") and Armageddon ("leaving on a jet plane").

Interesting Facts:
1. Before he was an actor in Hollywood he was some famous stars' bouncer (his list includes Will Smith and Jamie Foxx)

2. He was dating and actually engaged to The Apprentice's Omarosa

Brrr...........

This brisk weather is making me very aware that my son is not as prepared for the fall and winter weather as I thought!!! He has 1 hat and 0 sweat shirts or coats. I am so picky so I don't like the sweatshirts with all that crap and "GAP" written all over it. YES I am so picky! BUT we are definitely going to have to figure something out! I have been buying him all 12-18 months to get through fall and winter but they are, well some, too big now. So I am thinking I might hit up our local Junior League or there is this new consignment shop for some 6-12mo fall items to get him going!

Yummyyy..... PAINT!

Milestone: The King can pull himself to stand, wahooo! Wanna come over? Well it has made this new little stage a little bit more difficult unable to leave him "unattended" (i.e. more than an arm's length away).

One of the new perks is he can pull himself up in his crib and shake back and forth... which can be A- entertaining to watch on the monitor, especially when it looks like he's staring right at you, and B- fun when you go in the morning to wake him and he is so pumped to see you, even C- a little part of your heart melts when you go in and he is sobbing standing up and it feels so good to pick him up.

Well all that changed when I started noticing brown all over his face. Did he claw himself in his nap? Did he spit up- what did he eat that was brown? It took a day or two to realize that YES it was something he ate, BUT not what we thought.. It was the PAINT from his crib! I mean talk about a ferocious lion or bear... it literally looks like a baby bear was in his crib trying to claw his way out! So we had to get guards to put on the side rails of the crib and so far so good. You can actually attach little toys to them... cuuttteeee!

But I just have a feeling that when I go to tell him stories of this later his college friends are going to be like "ohhh that explains a lot man". Like the "you ate paint chips" story of our parents generation or the "I dropped you on your head or you fell off the couch stories" that our parents slyly tell us when we are older!

Does My Kid Have Special Powers?

So every mom thinks that their kid is "special". That isn't what I'm talking about....

It's like The King KNOWS when I go to bed later,  have an extra glass of vino, have just sat down on the couch, am putting a piece of food to my lips, or momma and daddy aren't here and the babysitter is in the hhoouuussseeee let's make her work for her money!

The King is such a happy, healthy, and well behaved little boy (7 1/2 months already) so I am not complaining, BUT every time we have a situation mentioned above it's like he decides to grace us with his presents at 2am (or multiple times that night) or cut his nap short but 1 hour and 50 minutes (for those if you non-mom's that means he took a ten minute nap)!

It makes me think of that new comedy, Up All Night, which is just sitting in my DVR waiting for me to watch it... hopefully uninterrupted!
